My day started with OAS and son of ROR rolling into my hotel room at 2AM smelling like they had just worked second shift at a cigarette factory. An early visit to The Jaarsma Bakery and a couple of Dutch Letters later and it was looking to be a great day in Pella.

You know it’s a big game when the Original Rat, Frank Berres ‘57, is in the house

The Johnnies roll on another beautiful fall Saturday. I hope there are a few more left.

My first time at Klas Field. A very nice facility. A couple of gripes. The field is a mile from the seating. The feeling on the field was way different versus the closeness at GAC last week. No visitor stands. Lack of foresight that there is not a heated and covered facility for the visiting team at halftime.

I would estimate the crowd to be 2/3 Johnnie fans at the beginning of the game. When the 4th quarter started it was up to 75% as at least 50% of the Piper fans decided to enjoy the glorious afternoon doing something else.

Charlie Welsh hauls in the pass from Jordan Hansel for the sixth Johnnie touchdown in the 46-7 victory

Another beautiful Minnesota fall day and an impressive performance by the Johnnies on both sides of the ball.

Patrick’s was great and the Patty Melt was quite good. Just not the same as being outside and enjoying a Stiftungsfest burger.

Hollingsworth Field is a beautiful addition to the Gustavus Adolphus campus. The seating is close to the field and provides great site lines. I took a short cut in and missed the entrance. If I had known the ticket lines were so long I would have told the rest of you how easy it was to get in through the tunnel the team uses to enter. Note: I have an MIAC pass; I didn’t cheat the Gusties out of any money.

The scoreboard tells the story of the 1st half (I like the yardage display)

It was a hot one in Collegeville on Saturday. I don’t think I was the only fan sweating out (literally as well as figuratively) the outcome of this one.

The Stiftungsfestivities turn out was the largest I have witnessed. It was great to meet a number of new Johnnie football fans as well as the Ole fans who participated in the pregame festivities.

Ben Vanderderheyden makes a critical 15 yard reception on 3rd  and 11, keeping alive the drive leading to Brian Weber’s 4th quarter TD which closed the St. Olaf lead to 26–24

What a day in Northfield. The Johnnies performance was as miserable as the weather. I thought we might end up with an all day Stiftungsfestivies. Fortunately the weather cleared and it was a pleasant day to watch a football game.
Thanks to Jeff Hanson for setting up the pre-game activities. The picnic pavilion was a life […]

What a glorious day in Collegeville.
Thanks to all the Cobber supporters who participated in the Stiftungsfestivities. The corn on the cob was a great addition to the usual culinary delights.
